I practiced law for 16 years. I built a thriving firm from the ground up, tried the cases, and lived the pressure. I also saw exactly how the marketing industry fails serious attorneys, selling soulless, commoditized sludge that insults our intelligence and diminishes our authority.
I was sold the same story every lawyer hears: that just one more month of PPC ads or SEO blogs would finally bring in better clients. But they didn’t, because sludge doesn’t build trust, and it cannot build a legacy.
Outside the courtroom, I honed the craft of storytelling as a professionally published fiction writer. I learned that the principles of persuading a reader are the same, whether the audience is a jury, an editor, or the new AI referral engines.
