I practiced law for 16 years. I built a firm, tried the cases, and lived the pressure. I also saw how the marketing industry fails serious attorneys. I saw the soulless, commoditized sludge it sells, and I refused to believe that was the only answer.
The industry’s conclusion was always the same: just one more month of ad spend, one more soulless blog post. But sludge doesn’t build trust, and it cannot build a legacy.
My search for the antidote took me back to the forge. I have a B.A. in English, but this was more than a degree. I founded a literary magazine, published in world-class publications, and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. I surrounded myself with master storytellers. I was not a lawyer who wrote; I was a craftsman who understood the courtroom.

A humbling pattern began to emerge. I profiled lawyers at opposite ends of the legal world—from quiet rural practices to figures at the center of nationally recognized cases. From these different worlds, I heard the exact same phrase: “You have a gift.”
But the gift wasn’t writing. It was translation.
It was the gift of translating a lawyer’s unseen, unspoken value—their true purpose—into a clear, powerful narrative. It’s the ability to find the human story that builds the only currency that matters: trust.
